Flood damage in Stoke on Trent

Circa 3,000 sq. ft.

Insurance Inspection

Project Works/ Claim Value: Circa £20,000

Objective:

Inspect and report on necessary flood damage remedial works needed.

Outcome:

Following reports of flood damage at a domestic property in Stoke on Trent, AMC were instructed to inspect and assess the extent of the damage, as well as identify what works were needed to rectify.

Our inspection established the cause of the flood was due to a faulty sump pump from which extensive damage was caused throughout the basement level of this listed building property. This in turn caused extensive condensation, mould and general damp related damage throughout the basement.

Due to several areas being concealed at the time of inspection further investigation was arranged with a separately appointed contractor who opened up and removed several isolated finishes and exposed the sub-structure. From this, use of a borescope, damp meter and several other pieces of equipment, we were able to confirm the extent of the flood damage, current moisture levels and what elements need to be replaced.

Our comprehensive report then enabled the building owner to successfully claim for flood damage remedial works.
