Balcony railings replacement and external refurbishment works.

Objective:
To design, specify, procure and project manage replacement of deteriorated railings, balcony finishes, as well as external remedial and redecoration works, for the purpose of ensure ongoing safety, improved aesthetical appearance, as well as prolonged life of existing finishes.
Outcome:
AMC were appointed to establish a client brief, design, specify, procure, administer a building works contract and project manage the works to practical completion ensuring compliance with Listed Building Consent/Planning permission and building control regulations.
Working with an AMC recommended local architect and structural engineer we were able to provide design options for our clients review and decision. AMC undertook a feasibility assessment from which our Client was able to make a better informed decision in relation to both design and cost. From this, a planning application and submission was made with permission for the works successfully obtained. Competitive tendering was undertaken by AMC under a Contract Administration instruction with a Contractor appointed under a suitable JCT building works contract. |
In addition to new railings, a new balcony floor covering was installed which not only provided a new improved finished but was specified and supplied with a 25-year guarantee. External remedial works including redecoration was undertaken which ensured the whole building externally was brought back to life to our Clients satisfaction.
